Today I’d like to introduce to you this product I began to use a month ago. Since I know for myself, I never had any problems with facial skin, except a bit oily T-zone. During this winter I started to feel some changes on this part. My skin became dry and eventually I’ve got this trouble beside my left eye. The problem called – eczema. So, honesty, I’ve never experienced something boring like this. It’s abnormally itchy and dry. My dermatologist prohibited all make-up products and limited my skin care routine on Pantenol cream only! This was a real hard for me to accept as I got used to face washers and light moisturizing creams. But! Luckly me, I’ve heard for La Roche-Posay Micellar Water Gel, designed for extremely sensitive and intolerant skin. Here is a little more about this little discovery of mine!

The company suggested that this product should be used as make-up remover; “Apply to wet face and do not rinse”. I’ll get back to this later. Now I would want to tell you how I use it most of the time. As I’m not allowed to wash my face with any product intended for that, because my eczema reacts really bad on anything that contains soap or paraben – I’m using this product for face washing. It’s soap, paraben and colorants free and such as this gel is perfect for me right now. So, at first, I found it a bit annoying that it doesn’t make any foam, as I was used to Avène’s mousse nettoyante (cleansing foam) (and that’s one of my dearest products, I wrote about it in THIS POST) that doesn’t contain soap but makes such a perfect foamy puffs. I thought that without foam my face can’t be properly washed or at least I didn’t feel like that. But, I had no other choice, so I kept using it day after day. With time I realized that this product leaves this kind of tiny coat on my skin after rinsing off, leaving skin really smooth and nicely closed pores. After I’d wash my face with this micellar gel, the feel on the skin was really light and refreshing. 3 weeks later I woke up one morning and I realized that the texture of my facial skin is visibly improved and I’ve got rid of a few tiny stains I had. My facial skin is really silky. I don’t have to mention that my eczema did’t got worse from this gel; on contrary, that part of the skin is cleaner, well hydrated and noticeably less red. Additionally, my cheeks and T-zone are in a real nice balance for now, and that makes me extremely happy.

Back to the make-up removing part. As I mentioned on the beginning of this post, dermatologist forbade usage of any make-up products for the time of having eczema. But, I had this happening that required some kind of make-up, so I went with one of my favorite liquid foundations – Vichy Illuminating foundation (Teint Ideal) (I mentioned it in THIS POST) as this one is made for sensitive skin. It irritated eczema just a little, but nothing abnormally. Anyway, I decided to give a try to La Roche-Posay Micellar Water Gel as make-up remover. “Apply to wet face and do not rinse” didn’t went well, so instead of that I used it as a regular make-up removing product – with cotton pad and then I washed my face regularly. And I can’t describe how fast it melted every single micron of my make-up in no time. I was amazed. Honestly!

This product comes in 195ml bottle with pump, a month later I used a little less than a half of it and my general opinion on this one is really and surprisingly positive. This is a perfect product for sensitive skin as it removes impurities thoroughly and without any aggression. It is absolutely worth the price of 16€
